[Faces of Domuni] Marguerite Ingenito
29 october 2026
An emerging choreographer in Quebec, the mother of a young daughter and a second-year Master’s student in philosophy at Domuni Universitas, Marguerite Ingenito has nurtured a passion for learning for nearly five years. Balancing her professional life, family life and philosophical reflection, she has found in distance learning an environment conducive to learning, discovery and encounters with others.
A passion for philosophy over the years
For Marguerite Ingenito, studying is much more than a university journey: it is a way of nurturing her curiosity and continuing to grow. Based in Quebec, Canada, where she works as an emerging choreographer, she is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Philosophy at Domuni Universitas.
“I have a passion for philosophy. I really love studying,” she explains. This passion holds a special place in a life that is already full, balancing her professional activities with her young family.
Having been enrolled at Domuni for nearly five years, Marguerite progresses at her own pace, gradually exploring the questions that interest her. Returning to her studies fulfilled several aspirations: continuing her educational journey, pursuing further learning and developing her potential.
Philosophy thus provides her with a space for reflection that extends across the different dimensions of her life. “It brings me peace; it opens my mind,” she explains. This experience allows her to make learning a constant presence in her life, despite the changes and demands of everyday life.
Studying at her own pace without giving up her ambitions
Choosing Domuni Universitas brought together several practical considerations. Marguerite wanted to study in French, remain in her region and pursue a philosophy programme while balancing her studies with her work and family life.
In her Canadian context, finding a programme that met all these expectations was not straightforward. The opportunity to study remotely enabled her to build an educational pathway suited to her circumstances without giving up her academic ambitions.
“With Domuni, I can really organise my own schedule and get on with what I need to do. It works well that way,” she explains.
This flexibility is accompanied by a learning framework that she particularly appreciates. The courses, readings and variety of resources allow her to explore the subjects she studies in greater depth while maintaining a clear structure for her learning.
She also emphasises the richness of the teaching and the variety of courses offered, which allow her to gradually shape a programme around her interests. Academic assignments become opportunities to explore a topic, refine a question or develop her own reflections.
Encountering others: at the heart of the experience
Beyond the knowledge she has acquired, Marguerite highlights another dimension of her studies: discovering otherness. Throughout her academic journey, her understanding of relationships with others has deepened.
“I think what has made the strongest impression on me is the relationship with otherness,” she explains.
This concept gradually takes on a more tangible meaning as philosophical ideas meet lived experience.
Exchanges with other students and the diversity of perspectives enrich this reflection. For Marguerite, interculturality is one of the great strengths of the Domuni experience: dialogue enables us to discover ourselves through others and to build relationships that open up new perspectives.
A Summer School centred on dialogue
Her experience at the 2026 Domuni Universitas Summer School in Tours, France, where she met Domuni students and professors, also contributed to this understanding. Living alongside others and encountering different ways of living and thinking firsthand enabled her to grasp realities that theoretical teaching alone might not have made as accessible.
Philosophy then extends into a human experience: it invites us to question our own perceptions, listen to different voices and better understand what it truly means to relate to others.
Marguerite particularly appreciated the organisation, the diversity of activities and the emphasis placed on exchanges. The discussions allowed her to pursue reflections initiated during the courses and consider them in light of other people's experiences.
She values this connection between the transmission of knowledge and dialogue, which gives encounters an essential place in the learning process. The Summer School thus represents a natural extension of her academic journey: a space where ideas circulate, perspectives intersect and reflection is enriched by the presence of others.
Learning, understanding and continuing the journey
When asked to sum up her experience at Domuni in one word, Marguerite spontaneously chooses: “Interesting.” A simple word that nevertheless conveys the diversity of what she finds there: varied courses, subjects to explore in greater depth, questions to investigate and encounters that broaden her perspective.
Her journey illustrates an approach to study that unfolds over time, alongside an active professional and family life. Through distance learning, she continues to pursue her passion for philosophy while developing a reflection attentive to the diversity of human experiences.
For Marguerite Ingenito, studying remains above all an opening: an opportunity to keep learning, better understand the world and allow herself to be transformed through encounters with others.
