Transmitting and Creating within the Christian Tradition

From 6 to 10 July 2026, the International Summer School of Domuni Universitas will take place in Tours, offering a week of exceptional intellectual, spiritual, and cultural immersion.

AN IMMERSIVE AND INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

This Summer School is distinguished by its resolutely international outlook. It brings together participants from across the globe and provides translation of plenary sessions into five languages, ensuring genuine accessibility and fostering meaningful intercultural dialogue.

The programme is structured around academic mornings and field-based afternoons. This dynamic approach encourages the cross-fertilisation of traditions, the exploration of living heritage, and the enrichment of reflection through experience.

Throughout the week, interactions between students and professors, interactive workshops, shared meals, and convivial gatherings create an authentic space for encounter, conducive to both intellectual and human development.

Organised by Domuni Universitas, the 2026 edition explores two fundamental axes centred on transmission through two complementary tracks: one designed for students, the other for faculty members. This dual approach enables a fruitful exchange of perspectives, articulates research and pedagogy, and fosters mutual enrichment of experiences.

The Summer School is intended for:

  • teachers and trainers from Domuni Universitas and the Order of Preachers;

  • Students of Domuni Universitas;

  • Independent auditors attending the academic morning sessions.

TWO COMPLEMENTARY TRACKS

Each morning is divided into two distinct tracks. Students will follow thematic sessions combining academic rigour, spiritual grounding, and cultural openness, with the aim of enriching reflection, nurturing faith, and developing a critical understanding of religious phenomena.

Faculty members will participate in a dedicated track led by an instructional design specialist, conceived as a space for continuing education, combining pedagogical reflection, practical tools, and the sharing of experience. It will enable participants to strengthen their teaching practices, innovate in transmission, and engage with contemporary challenges.

Below is the programme for these three dedicated mornings:

LEARNING IN THE FIELD

In the afternoons, students and faculty come together to engage in field-based experiences designed as direct extensions of the morning sessions. These shared moments take the form of workshops, thematic routes, and cultural explorations:

  • Tours and the figure of Saint Martin

  • “Art and Faith” itinerary in the Loire Valley (Blois, Amboise)

  • Workshops for reflection and dialogue

This off-site immersion offers an original approach to transmission: the places visited themselves become spaces of interpretation, reading, and intellectual and spiritual creation.

A DYNAMIC INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY

The Summer School also represents a key moment of international encounter. Cultures, disciplines, and individual experiences intersect and mutually enrich one another. The exchanges that emerge throughout the days naturally extend academic teaching and open up a living, free, and in-depth dialogue.

Shared meals, cultural evenings, and informal moments contribute to building authentic connections among participants. Gradually, a temporary community takes shape, faithful to the spirit of Domuni: open, universal, and fraternal.
