Dr. José Agustín Conde De Boeck
Doctor in Literature from the National University of Córdoba, since 2015 he has worked as a doctoral and postdoctoral researcher at CONICET, and has participated in research projects at the Institute of Humanities of the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities of the UNC. He is currently part of the project "Canon and margin in the Argentine literary system from 1940 to the present. Literary space and the emergence of otherness and cultural identities" (IDH - National University of Córdoba, Argentina).
As a specialist in contemporary Argentinean and Latin American literature, his main objects of study are gothic fiction and its projections in the avant-garde and neo-avant-garde of the 20th century, Argentinean philosophical thought, cultural journalism and publishing sociology. On these subjects he has published articles in national and international journals (including directing a dossier for the academic journal Pagine Inattuali of the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II) and presented papers at various universities (Universidad de Buenos Aires, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, University of London). He has also published books of essays and critical compilations: El Monstruo del delirio. Trayectoria y proyecto creador de Alberto Laiseca (La Docta Ignorancia, 2017), Sinfonía para un Monstruo. Aproximaciones a la obra de Alberto Laiseca (Eduvim, 2019), H.P. Lovecraft (Madrid: Diábolo, 2019), Vida, obra y milagros de Marcelo Fox (Borde Perdido, 2020), Laiseca (Madrid: Entre Ríos, 2022).
He is a regular contributor to cultural supplements and magazines such as Perfil, Bazar Americano, ArteZeta, Código y Frontera, El Diletante, Los asesinos tímidos and Revista Paco.
He has also published translations of Edgar Allan Poe, Marcel Schwob, Mark Fisher, Ian Hamilton Grant and Thomas Ligotti for Argentinean, Chilean and Spanish publishers such as Plaza de Letras, Avanti, Holobionte and Gaspar&Rimbau.
As a fiction writer, he has published the novels Nigredo (Nudista, 2022) and La danza de los juguetes rotos (Nudista, 2023).
Finally, he has been coordinating online workshops on contemporary Latin American literature since 2020.
