[EPISODE 6] – RENAUD LOMBA: “DOMUNI OPENED ME TO DIALOGUE WITH EVERY CULTURE”

As a theology student and pastor, Renaud Lomba chose Domuni for the quality of its teachings and the accessibility of its programs. This training has profoundly transformed the way he thinks, proclaims the Gospel, and engages with others.

How I discovered Domuni

While searching for universities, I explored several European schools, but the tuition fees were far too high. During my research, I came across Domuni Universitas. As soon as I read through the website, I knew it was the right fit: excellent teachers, a clear course structure, and an affordable cost. 

It was exactly what I needed.

A Christology rooted in cultural contexts

The courses that impacted me most were those on contextual Christology.
I learned how to present Jesus differently depending on cultural contexts:
– in Africa, as a healer;
– in India, through dance and joy;
– in Europe, through the concept of redemption.

This approach was eye-opening. Domuni taught me to dialogue like Saint Paul in Athens: to first recognise the other’s culture, and then gently introduce the living God.

Learning to listen, analyse, and respect

Domuni strengthened my critical thinking, my ability to listen, and my respect for other traditions. I learned to understand what others believe - even when I disagree - and to build genuine dialogue. Today, in my preaching, I compare, analyse, and seek to understand the perspectives of different traditions. It broadens my worldview and enriches my ministry.

“Committed to inclusion”

My dissertation on the inclusion of people with disabilities in faith communities was a turning point. I now hope to organise workshops, seminars, and eventually write a book to share what I’ve learned. I also dream of continuing my studies one day, perhaps in French, a language in which I feel more confident.

Why I recommend Domuni

I wholeheartedly recommend Domuni. The combination of academic quality, accessible fees, rich experience, and intellectual openness makes it a unique institution. Domuni helped me see that the Kingdom of God is much broader than I ever imagined.

My advice to future students

Time management is key. Domuni offers great freedom, but it requires organisation.

With discipline and consistency, everything becomes possible.
